ASTM A106 Grade B is a seamless carbon steel pipe widely used in the petroleum, chemical and boiler industries. The low-carbon steel exhibits excellent mechanical properties and is engineered for transporting liquids and gases under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. The manufacturing process combines hot rolling and cold working to enhance both strength and corrosion resistance. Typical applications include oil and natural gas transmission, chemical processing, power generation, shipbuilding and aerospace systems. Grade B delivers a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 psi and minimum yield strength of 35,000 psi, with tightly controlled chemistry (max 0.30% C, 0.29-1.06% Mn) to ensure consistent performance in demanding service.
