API Spec 5L is an international standard covering seamless and welded steel pipes for oil and gas pipeline transportation systems. The pipes are manufactured from hot-rolled strip or steel plate, formed into round or special shapes, and joined using high-frequency welding where applicable. Two product specification levels are offered: PSL 1 and PSL 2. The line pipe combines high strength, high toughness, corrosion resistance and good weldability, making it suitable for extracting and conveying oil, steam, water and natural gas across long-distance pipeline networks. Available across a broad range of grades from Grade B up to X70, the pipe is supplied with black, bright or polished surfaces and customizable lengths to match field requirements.
